Personal Details
Hi! I am a Patola silk saree weaver/manufacturer. I was born in Surendranagar, Gujarat. My father was also a weaver of Patola silk sarees.
Patola Saree Weaving Skills
Patola saree weaving is my traditional art. I have grown up watching my elders weave Patola sarees.
I learned this craft from my father, and I make patola silk sarees, shawls, and dupattas.
Patola Saree Weaving Process
Patola saree weaving is a time-consuming process. It involves exceptional craftsmanship.
The yarn is bought from Bengaluru; the dyes are bought from Mumbai; the zari thread is bought from Surat and the cotton thread is bought from Ahmedabad. I use chemical and natural dyes for color and mulberry silk for warp and weft.
To resist dyeing, the cotton thread is first tied onto the silk thread and then the thread is dipped in the dye. It is then dried and the cotton thread is tied again to resist the mixing of colors. The process of tying and dyeing is repeated for as many colors as required. After that, the yarn is set on the warp and weaved with silk thread in the shuttle.

The Patola silk sarees, dupattas, and shawls made by us are pure handloom products. These are very comfortable to wear and of high quality.
If you buy them directly from us they will be much cheaper than buying from retail showrooms.
Specialization
My expertise is in making Narikunjar designs. These designs have motifs of birds, elephants, and flowers.
Experience
I have 10 years of experience in weaving Patola silk sarees and dupattas.
Training Programmes Conducted
I have trained all my family members. This allows me to do more work and fulfill orders on time.
Future Plans
In the future, I want to promote this art and sell more products.
