Personal Details
Hi! I am a Madhubani paintings artist. My father has received a National Award for Madhubani art. My mother has also received a state award in Madhubani art. We are originally from Jitwarpur village in Bihar.
Madhubani Painting Skills
I learned Madhubani art from my father and mother. I have also undergone 4 months of training in the Guru Shishya Parampara workshop organized by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
Madhubani Painting Process
I make Madhubani paintings on both paper and cloth. I use natural colors on paper and cotton fabrics. For other fabrics, I use acrylic colors. I make paintings using brushes, nibs, and bamboo twigs.
Specialization
I can make Madhubani art in all three styles like Kachni, Godhana, and Bharni and I specialize in making natural things like birds, peacocks, elephants, etc.
Experience
I learned to make Madhubani art from my parents since childhood and I have also started selling my products in the last four years.
Participation in Exhibitions
I participated in many exhibitions held at Dilli Haat, Delhi.
Training Programmes Conducted
I have trained 45 to 50 students so far.
Future Plans
In the future, I want more and more people to make a career in this art. I also want to earn some awards for my work.
