Batik Printing Skills
A few years after completing my matriculation, I started learning machine knitting. There I saw girls making batik paintings. I was very impressed to see them doing this creative work. I became very eager to learn this art form.
Once, I was making batik painting outside my house, a bank manager saw me doing this. He liked my work and approved a loan of Rs. 25000. With this, I started my business in 1984 with my brother. I was married in 1991, and I shifted to Mumbai. I started making batik and tie and dye products in Mumbai. I started selling these products and eventually, my business started growing. Currently, my products are supplied all over India and abroad.
Batik Printing Process
I make batik products using beeswax and paraffin wax. I make different designs myself for my products. First, I make stencils of my designs on paper and then print them on the fabric. I paint on cotton cloth, raw silk, and pure silk. I make different colors using different materials like brenthol, color salt, caustic soda, etc.
I love doing batik printing and I can make different designs in it.
